Covestro Plans Antwerp Overhaul as Europe’s Chemical Industry Faces Pressure
Covestro has announced plans to reorganise polycarbonate production at its Antwerp site, reducing four production lines to one. The proposal also includes discontinuing local production of bisphenol A, a key raw material. Up to 260 employees could be affected, with employee consultations underway. The company aims to improve competitiveness and focus on higher-value materials while continuing its planned aniline investment.
